An Educational Experience
Like No Other
Regular Museum hours for public tours are
undays, 1 - 4 PM
Tours begin at 1, 2, and 3pm

Docent-led tours give visitors an opportunity to experience Rancho
Camulos.  You will see the main adobe built in 1853, the chapel, the
winery, the schoolhouse and our beautiful rose garden and  grounds.  
Learn about the early Californio days of the del Valle family and the
present-day owners of the 1800 acre ranch, the Rubels.  Hear about
Helen Hunt Jackson and her novel Ramona that made Camulos the
"Home of Ramona" and changed California forever.  Rancho Camulos
is the only Mexican land grant rancho in California that is open to the
public and still preserved in its original rural environment.  The site
contains 15 historic structures and is Ventura County's only National
Historic Landmark.

Bring the whole family!  Plan on spending at least an hour touring
Rancho Camulos.

Suggested donation for a docent guided tour:
$5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children.

School and Group Tours
The museum is closed for public tours during December and
January and during inclement weather
(rain, high winds, etc.)

At the present time, we are not wheelchair accessible.

School Tours
Whether you're associated with a public, private or home school,
Rancho Camulos Museum's year round school tours are a must see.  
Created by our in-house docent council (many of whom are previous
our educational program provides a hands-on approach to learning and
imitating rancho life of the 1800's.

Everything from doing laundry by hand to cooking tortillas is
experienced at Rancho Camulos.  All this and a deep appreciation for
California History all within minutes of your area and school.

Group Tours

things Ramona including the history, myth and romance that have
made Rancho Camulos a national historic landmark.  Step back in time
and discover the wonder of this tranquil agricultural oasis nestled along
the banks of the Santa Clara River.  Here you find lush gardens, quaint
waterscapes and silent movies from an era that time has now
