DOCENT OF THE YEAR
Awarded to Gordon Uppman

Gordon is a dedicated school tour docent who rarely misses a tour and does an excellent job of sharing the rancho period of California history with young visitors. The adobe bricks he helps students craft are one of the favorite aspects of the tour. Additionally, Gordon has worked hard to keep our Hwy. 126 signage up to date and takes charge of scheduling docents for weekly tours and school field trips. Throughout his years of service he has remained dedicated to learning and sharing his knowledge of California history with visitors of all ages.

Many thanks to both Ralph Rees and Gordon Uppman for their selfless dedication to making history come alive at this very special NATIONAL HISTORIC LANDMARK SITE!
