Experience a unique opportunity to step into an authentic historic Mexican rancho where the history, myth, and romance of early California still linger. Your afternoon at Rancho Camulos National Historic Landmark will feature a screening of Katie Ryan’s latest historical documentary Ghosts of California and a Western music performance by the Placerita Canyon Singers.
Recognized as one of the best surviving examples of an early California rancho in its original rural setting, Rancho Camulos holds a significant place in cultural history. It served as one of the settings for Helen Hunt Jackson’s 1884 novel Ramona and was the filming location for the first motion picture shot in the Santa Clara River Valley, Mary Pickford’s 1910 Ramona.
Explore the historic buildings and grounds on a docent-led tour and enjoy the film and concert.
