You’re invited to Tea & Tours at Rancho Camulos Museum on March 22nd from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Enjoy a special tour highlighting the adobe architecture of Rancho Camulos and learn about the original construction techniques that shaped this historic rancho. Guests will even make their own adobe brick!
After the Break: Memory, Vulnerability, and Landscape in the St. Francis and Baldwin Hills Dam Disasters
Attend an insightful program with historian Ann Stansell at Rancho Camulos Museum examining the 1928 St. Francis Dam disaster and the 1963 Baldwin Hills Dam failure. She will explore how these events are remembered through historic landscapes, family stories, ongoing acts of remembrance, and how communities continue to interpret their legacy.

HELEN HUNT JACKSON RETURNS TO RANCHO CAMULOS
Step back in time to 1882 and experience Helen Hunt Jackson’s visit to Rancho Camulos, which inspired her to use the rancho as a setting for her novel Ramona.
Join us on Saturday, January 31 at 1:00 PM for a lively portrayal of this historic moment, followed by docent led tours until 4:00 PM.

Doors Open California
Rancho Camulos Museum is proud to participate in Doors Open California, on September 14th!
Doors Open California is the state’s largest celebration of historic places, giving visitors special access to over 80 unique sites throughout California. Each weekend in September, explore remarkable architecture, design, and cultural heritage across the state.
For a flat fee of $20, attendees can explore preserved architecture and fascinating stories in multiple cities. Some museums will also offer free admission. Register today!
Old Dawgs, New Tricks
Old Dawgs, New Tricks are back at Rancho Camulos Museum on Saturday, August 30, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Enjoy a lively mix of Classic R&B, Oldies, dance hits from the 70’s and 80’s, Classic Rock, and Latin favorites. Bring a picnic, soak up the music, and stick around for a docent-led tour at 3:00 p.m.

Orchard Bluegrass Band at Rancho Camulos Museum
Join us Saturday, June 14 at 2 PM at Rancho Camulos Museum for a lively performance by The Orchard Bluegrass Band! Enjoy upbeat bluegrass, gospel, country, and Western music.
Docent-led tours run from 1–4 PM, so come early to explore the museum. Bring a blanket, picnic, and your favorite cold drink to celebrate Flag Day in the garden.
Suggested donation: $10
Veterans and kids 12 & under: Free
Rancho Camulos Museum is located at 5164 E Telegraph Rd (Highway 126), about 10 miles west of I-5 near Piru.
Regular Sunday tours are offered at 1, 2, and 3 PM. Group and special tours are available by appointment.

GHOSTS OF CALIFORNIA
Join Rancho Camulos for a special screening of, SCV Filmmaker, Katie Ryan’s newest documentary, “GHOSTS OF CALIFORNIA.”Ghosts of California is filled with fresh and largely untold tales about California in its early days. Both educational and entertaining, through photos and informed narrators that include historians, journalists, and songwriters.
Admission: $20
This event supports the preservation and educational initiatives of the non-profit.
Californio Fiesta De Rancho Camulos featuring Jon Chandler & Ernie Martinez
Jon Chandler and Ernie Martinez, will host your afternoon at Rancho Camulos Museum and National Historic Landmark. One of the best surviving examples of an early Californio Rancho in its original setting, it is the site that inspired the 1884 novel “Ramona” and the filming location for DW Griffith’s 1910 Ramona starring Mary Pickford. Enjoy an authentic Vaquero lunch, an intimate Cowboy music performance, and docent-led tours as you step back in time, where the history, myth, and Romance of old California still lives.

Dave Stamey, award winning Cowboy balladeer, “the Charlie Russell of Western Music,” will host your afternoon Vaquero experience at Don Ygnacio del Valle’s estancia at Rancho Camulos Museum and National Historic Landmark. One of the best surviving examples of an early Californio Rancho in its original setting, it is the site that inspired the 1884 novel “Ramona” and the filming location for DW Griffith’s 1910 Ramona starring Mary Pickford. Enjoy an authentic Vaquero buffet from local favorite, La Cocina Restaurant, an intimate Cowboy music performance and costumed docent-led tours as you step back in time in Heritage Valley, where the history, myth, and Romance of old California still linger.
All proceeds benefit the non-profit museums historical preservation. Transportation is NOT provided for this trip; attendees must drive themselves to the location.

Helen Hunt Jackson Returns
A reenactment of Heln Hunt Jackson’s visit to Rancho Camulos, on the invitation of Don Antonio Coronel, former mayor of Los Angeles. She had been briefed on the region’s history and the status of relations with local Native Americans. The trip, Coronel’s briefing and the conversations she had while in Southern California would inspire “Ramona” in 1884.
