One of our decents, Gordon Uppman standing in the chapel doorway, wearing a black shirt, black vest, and a belt with a large silver buckle.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Gordon Uppman, who passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 88.

A devoted family man and passionate advocate for history, nature, and education, Gordon dedicated more than 30 years to serving the Santa Clarita community. He shared his knowledge as a volunteer and docent at Placerita Canyon Nature Center, Rancho Camulos Museum, and the Santa Clarita Historical Society's Saugus Train Station Museum. At Rancho Camulos Museum, he was honored as the first Docent of the Year, and in 2022, he was nominated as Santa Clarita Valley Man of the Year.

Gordon will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and lifelong commitment to preserving and sharing local history. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
